Courses Considered for Pre-Matriculation Transfer Credit

In order to be considered for general credit, the courses must have been taken at an accredited institution. Courses must have earned a letter grade or have a letter grade equivalency. Only courses with earned grades of C or higher are eligible. Please see Credits Taken Before Admission for additional criteria.

Credit is awarded based on the semester hours earned, as they appear on the official transcript (Example - 3 semester hours=3 credits; 4 semester hours=4 credits). If unsure of semester hours earned, please contact the institution that issued the transcript.

Please note that individual departments have the sole discretion to determine whether a transfer credit course should count toward the major or minor or to determine course equivalency, including for pre-requisite purposes.

The following may be helpful in determining potential transfer credit. Please also refer to the Transfer Credit Roadmap
