Green Dot

Green Dot is a national program, implemented by the College in 2010, that trains students in bystander intervention. Through the program, students, faculty and staff are trained to help prevent power-based personal violence, including sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. A "Green Dot" is defined as any behavior, choice, word, or attitude that counters or displaces a "red dot" of violence, promoting safety for everyone and communicating utter intolerance for sexual violence, interpersonal violence and stalking. More than 1000 students, faculty and staff members have been trained.

Don’t Cancel That Class! A program for faculty

Are you a faculty member who's going to be away on a conference? Stuck in traffic on 95 and probably won't make it to class? Invite the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Advocacy to facilitate your class for you as part of the "Don’t Cancel That Class!" program. We will work with you to finalize a topic and work it into your curriculum, whether it relates to sexual assault, dating violence and stalking, or if you would like to introduce Green Dot to your students. For more information, contact spowell2@conncoll.edu or 860-439-2235.
