Women's Soccer scores four goals in 10 minutes to win season opener

Erin Davey '10 scored two goals in a span of just 1 minute and 39 seconds to lead the Connecticut College Camels (1-0) to a 4-0 first half lead in a 6-1 season opening victory against the Coast Guard Academy (0-4) Thursday. Sharon Katz '10 added a goal and three assists for the Camels, who piled up 48 shots in their 2009 debut.

"We played with some fire," Davey told New London's The Day. "The whole team played together so well."

Brigi Palatino '12 chipped in with a goal and an assist for the Camels, who won their 10th consecutive decision against their New London rivals. Coast Guard sophomore Mary Mills kept the score down with a heroic 26 saves in goal. For the Camels, Amy Lowitt '13 made two saves in the first half, while Jenna Ross '10 played the entire second half.

Next, the Camels take on Bates College in NESCAC play Saturday, Sept 12, at 11 a.m. in Lewiston, Maine.
