Find the Koine from your senior year, look up your friends on your class Facebook page and pull out your old camel T-shirt.

Reunion 2010 is just around the corner, and over 650 alumni and guests have already signed up.

Those whose class years end in ’0 and ’5 will be on campus June 4-6 to enjoy a New England lobster bake, classes taught by some of their favorite professors and more. Check the schedule to see which faculty will be on campus.

“Green” is the theme this year with plenty of special programming and events such as a panel on the history of environmental sustainability at the College and a student-led green campus tour that will give an inside look at the College’s wind turbine measuring system, Sprout! and more.

Plant centerpieces will be used for campus landscaping after the weekend, and the florists are professional agronomists who produce their own soil, conserve water and support healthy ecosystems. We’re buying local produce through local vendors, and we’re cutting our bottled water consumption by more than half. Read more about our environmental efforts.

The Sykes Society Luncheon on Friday, for those who graduated 50 or more years ago, will feature remarks by Clark University Professor Cynthia Enloe ’60. She has taught political science and women’s studies at Clark for over 30 years and has had Fulbright fellowships in Malaysia and Guyana. Her topic is, “Taking Women’s Lives Seriously to Tally the Real Costs of the Iraq War.”

Other activities on the schedule include an athletic panel on the NESCAC, a new exhibit exploring the history of LGBTQ life at Connecticut College, music and dancing on Tempel Green and rowing, motorboat rides and sailing on the Thames River.

Additional highlights include:
• Alumni Parade
• Convocation with alumni awards and an address by President Higdon
• Dana Hartman Freyer ’65, the co-founder and chair of Global Partnership for Afghanistan, will deliver the keynote address Friday night, titled “Crossing Boundaries, Moving Mountains: You Can Change the World”
• Class receptions and dinners
• Panels with faculty, staff and alumni

For more information on these events and to see which alumni will be giving panels during the weekend, view the latest schedule of events. For the first time ever, a live schedule**, viewable with a smartphone, will also be available throughout the weekend.
