The transformation of New London Hall into a state-of-the-art Science Center is well under way, and now you can track the progress in real time. With the new webcam overlooking the construction site from Fanning Hall, you'll have a great view of the steel for the addition as it rises into place. You can also get a sense of the excitement by viewing the video from the May 21 groundbreaking. Construction photos are also being updated regularly.

The $20 million-plus project will transform the College's oldest building into a modern center for the life sciences - biology and botany - and computer science. A 6,500-net-square-foot addition will expand the amount of space for research and teaching by 28 percent. The Center will anchor a "Science Triangle" with the nearby F.W. Olin Science Center and Hale Laboratory, which house the College's other science programs. The work is funded through the Campaign for Connecticut College with a grant from the Sherman Fairchild Foundation and leadership support from alumni and parents.

The renovated building and a new addition are scheduled to open in the fall of 2012.
